WHO WE ARE
The best business advice received in the fledgling days of Agility Technologies Corporation (ATC) was, “do what you know”. After spending an accumulated 40+ years in the technical rescue and communications equipment manufacturing business, the decision to focus on developing equipment for people working in hazardous environments was a no brainer. Agility Technologies was created at the crucible of a kitchen table for the purpose of making a positive difference in the lives of the people we serve. We want our company to break out of the slow moving corporate equipment manufacturer mold. We want to be active participants in the Rescue, Military and Industrial communities. We will remain agile and open to the suggestions of our customers and provide exceptional customer service.

Our vision was to develop a range of products that will shift the markets we intend to participate in. We spent time talking to rescuers, colleagues and friends around the world about needs, wants, and technical requirements. We also took the time to do extensive technical research into the creation and application of emerging technologies. Then we cross matched these with information gathered from potential customers and developed a strategy to design and develop the next generation visual and communications platform specifically engineered for Emergency, Military and Industry personnel working in highly-skilled hazardous work environments.
This knowledge manifested itself into a visionary ecosystem of products that are supported by both hardware and software. The initial investment and technical skills required to start the process were put into place and ATC is now executing on the development of our roadmap starting with the FirstLook360 spherical imaging camera.
We are confident that FL360 and its intuitive mobile application will exceed user expectations, increase capabilities and open avenues for collaboration that previously had been denied due to currently available antiquated search equipment. We recognize the shift in higher user expectations for technical products and the need for cost effective, practical solutions. All of us here at ATC want to put the “TECH” back into Technical Rescue.
TEAM
ANDY IBBETSON
Chief Executive Officer / Co-Founder
Andy has been directly engaged with the development, manufacture and sale of electronic communication and safety products for over 30 years. He has been deeply involved in the start-up of two successful businesses – Magnum Distribution Ltd. and CON-SPACE Communications Ltd. He was directly responsible for multiple OEM products developed and manufactured for fortune 500 companies globally. He has authored articles and technical papers for industry groups, military and technical rescue publications. His focus on making the customer experience a positive one is reflected in all his past products and projects. He possesses extensive hands on experience in both the North American and European markets. During his free time Andy is a volunteer firefighter and enjoys listening to his vinyl record collection at his log cabin in the mountains of British Columbia.
MATT FIDDES
Chief Marketing Officer / Co-Founder
Matt brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience to Agility. Matt’s responsible for sales, marketing and technology implementation. As one of the founders of Agility, his vision is to establish a model company in the manufacturing industry with the goal to provide exceptional customer service, quality, and timely excellence. For the last 12 years, Matt has held several roles and responsibilities at Savox Communications (CON-SPACE Communications – acquired) marketing and selling hardware tech products in the fire/rescue, industrial, law enforcement, military and mobile markets around the world. Matt has helped create partnerships with Fortune 500 companies like AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Motorola Solutions to name a few. When work ends and play begins, Matt enjoys a very active lifestyle taking advantage of everything one of the best cities in the world, Vancouver, has to offer.
KORNELIS KUIPER
Chief Operating Officer / Co-Founder
Entrepreneur and business man, Kornelis operates a successful IT business located in Vancouver as well as a resort business in the Netherlands. Kornelis brings considerable expertise and focus in the areas of finance, organization and processes to Agility.
AKSHAY BUDHIRAJA
Head Engineer
Akshay is a Systems Engineer with expertise in embedded firmware & hardware development and enjoys building cross-functional teams that excel in the convergence of hardware & software. He has won the SFU Engineering Competition four years in a row and represented SFU at the Western Engineering Competition at UVic, UoA, UBC and UBC-O. He was most recently co-founder of Avian Robotics – a startup developing a swarm of autonomous drones for the purposes of security.
ONUR DEMIRALAY
Senior Software Engineer
A fearless self-starter, Onur is a Software Developer who is passionate about every aspect of computer science and software development. While in school, Onur was involved in few startups where he gained deep insight of entrepreneurship and real world experience in software development with emphasis on iOS development. Upon graduation Simon Fraser University, he realized he can combine his software wizardry and his love of helping people and joined Agility. Onur brings his high standards for code, his passion for software architecture to Agility where his work exemplifies robustness and the attention to detail the technical rescue applications demand.
ALAN JAKOBSEN
Sales Manager – North America
Experienced Outside Sales Management leader with a demonstrated history of building distribution and dealer networks worldwide. Alan brings to the team his skills in Sales, Account Management, Direct Sales, Product Marketing, and knowledge of Start-up positioning. With over 25 years of experience in the Fire Rescue and Construction markets, Alan’s professionalism and knowledge have helped many companies grow throughout his employment history.
